We Value the Bible

As we continue to look at the core values for Denver Street Baptist Church, we take a look at the practical warnings Paul and Timothy provide to the believers in Colossae to stay rooted in the sufficiency of Jesus Christ for salvation.

We Value Community

As we continue to unpack the truths contained in the book of Colossians - and more specifically, how they apply to our church's core values, we discover Paul's purpose in writing to a group of strangers. Paul writes to encourage, provide endearment, and to see the lives of the faith community be enriched. 

We Value Evangelism

This week, we stayed in the book of Colossians to understand more clearly what it means when we say "we value evangelism". 

We Value Prayer

Our church is in the process of considering a new Mission Statement. As we prepared to get to this point, a part of our work was to identify our core values. Today, we explore one of those values, prayer. We value prayer because we know of its importance and its effectiveness. We rely on prayer to align ourselves with God's will. This sermon explores how prayer points people to God, pulls people together, and prepares people for mission.

The Book of Rememberance

As we approach the conclusion of the book of Malachi, we finally find the root cause of every condemnation that has been levied against God's people up to this point. We turn our attention to identifying and addressing self-righteousness in ourselves in response. 

Return to Me

As we continue through the book of Malachi, we have reached the climax of the burden laid on Malachi's heart. Now, God proceeds to provide instructions for how we might return to Him through genuine worship.

This sermon in our series through the book of Malachi brings together the information we need to apply the call to return to worship that we have been studying so far. 

You Have Turned Against Me

The next section of the book of Malachi turns its attention to the people of God's covenant. Here, we find God addressing the sanctity of Marriage and its relation to the future plans of the kingdom. We then consider the importance marriage continues to have in the lives of God's chosen people.

You Show Contempt for My Name

The second sermon in our series, Conversations with God, addresses the heart of worship. It isn't enough that we do the things that are right and commanded in scripture. Our daily devotion to worship requires that we do so with the right attitude. Worship is an overflow of what is in our hearts. If our heart is not in the right place, it will affect the integrity of the "right" things we do. The "why" is more important than the "what".

I Have Loved You

We began our study of the book of Malachi reflecting on the purpose of beginning this book with a proclamation of the love God has shown his chosen people.
