This week, we stayed in the book of Colossians to understand more clearly what it means when we say "we value evangelism". 

Our church is in the process of considering a new Mission Statement. As we prepared to get to this point, a part of our work was to identify our core values. Today, we explore one of those values, prayer. We value prayer because we know of its importance and its effectiveness. We rely on prayer to align ourselves with God's will. This sermon explores how prayer points people to God, pulls people together, and prepares people for mission.

As we approach the conclusion of the book of Malachi, we finally find the root cause of every condemnation that has been levied against God's people up to this point. We turn our attention to identifying and addressing self-righteousness in ourselves in response. 

As we continue through the book of Malachi, we have reached the climax of the burden laid on Malachi's heart. Now, God proceeds to provide instructions for how we might return to Him through genuine worship. 

This sermon in our series through the book of Malachi brings together the information we need to apply the call to return to worship that we have been studying so far. 

The next section of the book of Malachi turns its attention to the people of God's covenant. Here, we find God addressing the sanctity of Marriage and its relation to the future plans of the kingdom. We then consider the importance marriage continues to have in the lives of God's chosen people.

The second sermon in our series, Conversations with God, addresses the heart of worship. It isn't enough that we do the things that are right and commanded in scripture. Our daily devotion to worship requires that we do so with the right attitude. Worship is an overflow of what is in our hearts. If our heart is not in the right place, it will affect the integrity of the "right" things we do. The "why" is more important than the "what".

We began our study of the book of Malachi reflecting on the purpose of beginning this book with a proclamation of the love God has shown his chosen people. 

The Sunday before Christmas, we look at the story of the Angel Gabriel coming to the Virgin Mary to tell her that she would conceive a son. A son, that would conquer death and provide a means of salvation to all that would accept Him as their savior. From the story, we glean how we can worship genuinely at Christmas: marvel at the miraculous, confront the reality of our lives and our condition, and finally, submit wholeheartedly to the Lord. 

In this sermon, we explore the preparatory work that laid a foundation to prepare a people ready to receive Christ into the world. We answer the question, how should we prepare to worship at Christmas.
