The book of Ephesians was written to a group of believers, as Paul writes, "to the saints who are in Ephesus." (Eph. 1:1). Still, the apparent focus of the first two chapters are not on recognizing the state of Christians as they put on their new self; but rather, "the old you" that we have put off. In recognizing this, we're able to understand the magnitude and awesomeness of God's saving grace.
